Never stop

I never want to stop the journey. I love finding out of the way, unexpected places. This is one of my favorite finds. I was in NYC several years ago with a friend. Our rooms were at the Roger Smith Hotel on Lex. They were just opening this little bar on the roof. It's small, holding maybe 50 people at most, and intimate. It was a great contrast to the hustle and bustle of The City. While the bar section didn't open until 5 I got to know the manager on duty and he allowed me access to the area during the day and even got the bartender/wait staff to bring me drinks from the first floor bar during the quiet part of the day. I sat there, read books, smoked cigars and sipped drinks for a couple of hours every day. What a great way to recharge my batteries. I checked the Roger Smith web site and this little bar is still there. It is now called Henry's Rooftop Bar and has apparently become one of the most popular rooftop bars in NYC. It remains one of my favorite stops on my journey.
